Texture Tuesday | An update about no update

So I realized that it has been a while since we have given any update on our little guy.  I realize this because we have been getting a new rounds of questions of something along the lines of “Any updates?” or “any news?” And really, the answer is no… How badly I want to be able to say YES. Here is what we do know! We got a video on our precious little one!! A whole five minutes of watching our son smile, play, stand, reach, and drool (he has 6 teeth now!).  I cannot tell you the number of times we have watched his video.  It makes my heart so happy to see him growing, happy, and safe.  He seems very happy and comfortable with his foster mama, and I am so thankful for her for loving and caring for him while we can’t. If you see me, I am more than happy to share the video! But we can’t put his little face online till we get him home.

SO here is the update about no update.  Some things we don’t know… We don’t know if we have been submitted to court yet.  We don’t know where the court system is in processing court dates.  We don’t know how many families will get seen, per court date.  We don’t know where we stack up in this process or when we will be submitted.  We do not know when we will get a court date.  We do not know how many court dates they will have the rest of the year. We do not know for sure that we will get to travel this year.

Some things we do know…. We know that last week and this week the Korean Court system is on break.  They completely shut down for 2 whole weeks. So we suspect that the entire month of August, we will not hear any news.  We do know that there are four court dates at the end of August for 2013 families. We aren’t sure how many families will be going per court date or even when those families got their referrals.

Something that we DO know. We do know that we are still waiting. Waiting on that day that we find out it is our turn.  Our turn to fly to meet our son for the first time.  Our turn to tell the courts that we will love and care for our baby for the rest of our lives. Our turn to bring our baby to his new, second home, and to finally be the family we have been waiting to be.

So until that time, until we get that notice that we have a court date, we really have nothing to update.  So to keep our minds busy during this period of waiting, we are going to stay busy with date nights, work, our friends, our family, football season, selling our home, and moving into the home we will raise our children.  So if I seem a little crazy, please understand, I am a little crazy.:)

So no blog is good without pictures, SO I want to share the most amazing gift I got today from 4 people that I love so dearly, and truly know what we are going through right now! I am absolutely in love with this gift!

Texture Tuesday | A Big Move

As if adopting internationally wasn’t enough on our minds, hearts, and head, we thought we would take our already crazy life one step further! We are moving!! Just across town, but still! We weren’t even in the market for a new home, but nevertheless, we have found a home that we love!

Let me explain.  This winter we came across this house. We really liked it.  It needed some updates and needed some of our own touches, but someone put in a contract on the home before we could even really take a look at it.  However, four months later, we noticed it back on the market! My husband, Scott, is a little OCD and is always looking for our next home.  And after a few days, we just couldn’t stop thinking about it.  It had everything we wanted.  The location, the floor plan, the feel! So we went to see it, made a pro /con list, and spent several hours talking about could this house become the home that we start our family and raise our children in.  So after 48 hours and another trip to see the house, we made an offer.  And just five hours later, we found out that they accepted our offer!! Crazy, I know!

So NOW we have two houses… One that we will move into the end of September, and one that we officially have on the market! We have lived in our current home for almost 6 years, and simply love it! We totally renovated it to really make it our own, and it was the perfect home to start our marriage together.  We love it.  And we know that another couple or family will love it as much as we do! We would love for everyone to go take a look at our home for sale! If you, or anyone you know is looking for a great home, we have just the one for you:)Go to: http://www.c21westmain.com/property/residential/1470113/ to see the listing! Lisa m - Congratulations Rebecca and Scott! I love your sense of style. Your home is beautiful and I’m sure it will sell quickly. Also, I know the Lord’s timing in the adoption and your move will be perfect :).

Texture Tuesday | A visting furry friend

This week, we are dog sitting my in-laws’ little puppy while they are traveling.  Louie is a little over one year old, and staying with us till Sunday! He is a cute little bundle of fur and full of energy! Now while I am a total dog person, I mean I love my puppy Toby, he is our first child! I have learned, that we are not good with two dogs in the house.  At least not one that is older (and a little particular/ornery/high-maintance when his routine is changed) and a brand new pup who likes to bite ankles excessively! So needless to say, these two puppies are not loving each other’s company.  Toby in particular.  Majority of the day, he is looking at me like, “When is the pup leaving? He has been here 6 days already! How many more to go??”  So while I have been playing referee here lately, things have been a little calmer today.  So what better thing to do on a rainy day? Photo session with the pups! ***I am not a pet photographer, and I have a whole new level of respect for those that are! These pictures are not very good :/ Toby and Louie looked at me like I was crazy, especially when I tried to get them to sit next to each other!

 PS-I have some awesome Texture Tuesdays coming up! So sorry this is just a fluff week:)The next two weeks are too!

Franklin & Nashville, TN Engagement Photographer | Beth & Brian {Couples}

Love this couple! I love all my couples! We had so much fun on this engagement shoot in downtown Franklin.  The weather was perfect, the light was romantic, and there was so much love and laughter! So in my books, a great session! Beth and Brian are getting married tomorrow, and I have been waiting to share this session till closer to their wedding date! Cannot wait to spend the day with them tomorrow on their amazing wedding day!

Texture Tuesday | MIA because…

Hey Everyone!!!! Can you believe that it is already half way through July! 2013 is just flying by me! And this week, I am sure, will be gone before I know it, especially since my family from Florida are in town! We have been swimming and playing every second of this week so far!  We are still planning on a shopping day, going to the Nashville Zoo, spending a day at the lake, and having a fun day/night doing all things fun in Nashville.  So while I have my sweet family in for the week, I am cherishing every second! I will be a bit MIA this week… slower to post, slower to respond to emails.  So I can enjoy and savor this amazing week with my family! I hope everyone has a great week!
