Tori and Stuart are patiently waiting for Miss Adysson Leigh to make her first appearance in August! I am sure she is going to be awesome, because she is going to have amazing parents! I have loved getting to know this wonderful couple through our Sunday School class. Tori might be the cutest little pregnant lady that I have seen, and I am so glad they asked me to document this special time in their lives. I cannot wait to meet their baby girl later next month! Take a look at the pictures that I shot yesterday!
Welcome to the world Taylor! Meet this little 7 day old baby. He is just a tiny little thing at just under 6 pounds. This precious couple were just glowing with excitement and happy to welcome this new bundle of joy into their family. It was great to catch up with Taylor’s mom and dad! I went to high school with them, so it was nice to see how happy they are with their new family. Take a look at some of the pictures from yesterday’s session!

Thanks Moses Family! I had such a good time meeting your new little addition! Congratulations!
I have had the chance to get to know the Mayfield family over the past several years. Kama has become a great friend to me, and I have loved watching her family grow! Kama came to me several months ago with the idea of getting family pictures done. She is very creative, so I really enjoyed talking with her about what she wanted from our session. We threw around some ideas on location, style, and what to wear! She really did a great job with her family’s clothing, and pulled off some unique family portraits (or maybe a better word would be lifestyle instead of portraits). We really captured this family’s personality and dynamics, and got to look at a snapshot of their lifestyle. Take a look at some of the shots I got during our session!
Thank Travis, Kama, Braden, Madi, Ava, and Gavin for a fun day!
I love these…and the Mayfield Family! Great Job! 🙂
Yesterday, I went out with one of my good friends, Vicki, and her daughter for a photo shoot and a little photography lesson. Vicki asked me to show her how to work her DSLR on manual, so that she could take better pictures of her family and friends. She has a large family, and takes many, many pictures. Hopefully I was able to give her a general understanding of how to work her camera to produce better pictures (no more AUTO Vicki!!)!
Molly just graduated 8th grade, and will be starting high school this fall. She was more than willing to be our model for our mini-lesson! We decided she needed to be on America’s Next Top Model WITHOUT all that drama! She is very intelligent girl, with great confidence and personality. She is a lot like her mom, but neither would probably admit to it! I am so thankful that I have gotten to know Vicki’s family over the past few years, and gotten to document some important times in their lives. Here are a few of the fabulous Molly from our session in downtown Nashville.
These are fantastic! It was so much fun learning, and I promise to try hard to apply all you taught me. As expected, your photos are exceptional. It is really interesting how we both saw different things even in the same place. The third one from the bottom is very much “her”. Great job!
Love them–especially the one with the flag reflection in the window! You had a pretty model with Ms. Molly! 🙂
Where did you take these! Love them.
We went around downtown Nashville! We had so much fun!
This spring I took a FABULOUS class from Zach and Jody Gray from Gray Photography. They are wonderful Nashville photographers who have given their time and knowledge to other photographers to help improve and teach the people in this industry. I blogged a couple of months ago about one of the classes I took that focused on controlling natural light during a session, check that out here. But the next two classes taught me more about off camera lighting. The Gray’s are such amazing teachers and just taught in away that I really understood all the technical details, lighting styles, and lighting ratios. Check out some of the pictures we took of the fabulous models from the 2 day class! These have not been “photoshoped”! Mostly these came out of my camera as is with a few minor tweaks.
Here are a list of vendor’s that helped us out at the workshop!
Nashville Event Lighting – the venue and uplighting
The Bake Shoppe – The wedding cake!
Music City Tents and Event – Reception rentals
The Enchanted Florist Centerpiece!
