Texture Tuesday | An Update

So we have been getting a lot of questions lately asking if we have received any news on our little guy and when do we expect to bring him home! I realized we haven’t given much of an update since we announced that our son is in South Korea, and a lot has happened in the last month.  We love that so many people are loving, thinking, and praying for us and our baby. So here it is:)

So originally, when we accepted the referral for our little guy, we thought we could travel earliest July and the latest Octoberish.  We would travel to Soeul, South Korea for one week.  While we were there we would get to meet our son, and on that same trip get to travel back home with him! However, we just learned a few weeks ago, that the regulations have changed.  Instead, we will now have to make two trips over to South Korea.  The first trip we will get to meet our Davis, have a couple of visits with him, attend court for a 7-10 minute interview, then return home for approximately three weeks.  After about three weeks, we will get a notice saying that we can return to South Korea to bring our Davis home! A day we are so anxiously awaiting!

We also got news that since S. Korea was trying to decide these changes, their court system got backed up. So while in the beginning we have a time frame that we would get to travel to meet our son in 3-6 months, now we have not been given any time frame.  Nothing… No one can tell us anything because the whole system looks new.

SO, that is part one of the update! Not great news… but he is still OUR son, and nothing is going to change that! We just have a little longer wait to get him and we will have to make two trips to Seoul.  So we are focusing on that positive.  He is still OUR son, and God has made him perfect for us to love on him.

Another good thing is that yesterday we got our I-600 approval! Which means all the US side of the paperwork is DONE! All our information will be sent to S. Korea today (which means they will get it tomorrow since they are 14 hours a head of us!).  So once they receive it, we can get processed to get in line to have a court date.

So here is another not so great news.  Once our agency, SWS, gets our information, we get ZERO feedback or updates from them.  Nothing. Nada.  We go into silent mode.  We won’t hear when it is received, when it gets sent to family court, when the Ministry approves it, nothing.  The next notice we will get is when we get to travel for our court date! And we have no.idea.when.that.will.be. Talk about God teaching me who is in control.  And I know it is not me! We are still hoping and praying that we will get to travel later this fall.  But right now, it is out of our hands and out of our control.

We appreciate all the love and support from all of you! So while we wait in this period of silence, we really would appreciate your continued prayers for our baby.  Pray that our baby feels loved, is healthy, and continues to grow and thrive.  Pray for us that we can find peace and pray that we can use this time to prepare to become parents.  Pray that the court system processes our paperwork fast so we can bring our baby boy home SOON.  So until then, until we get that call that we get to travel.  The call to travel half way across the world to meet our son.  We don’t have a lot left to share.  But trust me.  When we get that call, I will be shouting it from the mountain top!!! So until them, please continue to pray for all three of us!! We very much need it!

(please excuse the not so great picture! Quick iphone picture of a little something going in Davis’s room!)
