GaryAnn {1 year} | Lebanon & Mt. Juliet Baby & Family Photographer

Sweet GaryAnn! I cannot believe that this little baby is already one year old, and busy as any one year old should be at this age! We had the most beautiful morning to take pictures, and GaryAnn was has happy as can be during our session! I have loved that I gotten to be apart of her life as she has grown up.  Her mom, Ashlee, is one of my dear friends, and it has been such a blessing having her in my life.  When we scheduled our session, we also talked about getting some family pictures as well.  I love getting family interaction and emotion and moments during our sessions! Love just flows so much from this family, and it was amazing to capture it all!  I cannot wait to see how GaryAnn will learn and grown over the next year! Take a look at some of my favorites of GaryAnn’s one year old session!

Kristy & Jason {A Wedding Day to Remember} | Lebanon & Nashville, TN Wedding Photographer

I cannot being to tell you how excited I have been about Kristy and Jason’s wedding.  I mean, I get excited about all of my weddings.  This is an area of photography that I just love.  Their is so much love, emotion, and happiness on wedding days, and I am just thankful that I get to capture it all! I did Kristy and Jason’s engagement session last fall, and from that moment on, I knew they were meant to be together.  Every look, glance, laugh, kiss, and touch took my breath away.  They just melt into one another.  Their wedding day was no different.

Kristy and Jason asked if I would make the trip to East Tennessee for their wedding day, and I jumped on the chance to be apart of their big day.  We arrived Friday night at the cabin the bridal party (and me!) were staying. It was full of all the family and friends celebrating the chance to all be together in one house for an amazing weekend. From that moment, I knew it was going to be great.  They all made me feel like family.

They put so much of themselves into their wedding, and prefected all the little details.  From homemade wine to jelly jars and custom wine glasses, no detail went unnoticed! I was in heaven photographing it all.   This makes me beyond happy! Take a look!

Thank you so much Kristy and Jason for asking and wanting me to be apart of your day! I hope that I captured your day in a way that you can remember for the next 60 years!

Tara & Bryan {Anniversary Session} | Lebanon & Nashville, TN Couples Photography

Oh how I have been excited to share this session! Tara had been talking to me for months about having a 10 year anniversary session to celebrate their last 10 years of marriage! I just loved the idea, and was so excited to start planning and picking out the perfect location for this amazing session.  Tara and Bryan wanted a cool but vintage location, and I thought my family farm would be the perfect place to do this.  We trekked out to Norene on afternoon, and got some fantastic moments captured for them. Moments of love, laughter, and happiness.  My favorite type of moments right there in front of me!  Take a look at just a few of my absolute favorites!

Simplicity {Personal} | Lebanon & Nashville, TN Photographer

Simplicity… something that my life has been far from for the last two years.  As most of you know, I have been basically working two full time jobs.  Teaching an amazing group of kids with special needs, as well as running a photography business.  Both jobs are wonderful.  Both jobs are inspiring and creative.  Both jobs are emotional and stressful.  During the last two years,  my path has felt blurred and a little manic (okay…maybe very manic), as I have tried to maintain both passions.  By doing that, I have sacrificed time with my husband, my family, and my friends.  I have stopped running and taking care of me.  So over the last few months I have taken a step back to see how I can simplify this hectic life I am living.

So for months of debates, tears, worry and words of encouragement from family and friends, I am taking a leave of absence from my teaching job.  After the decision was made, and I spoke to my principals about it, a million pounds lifted immediately. I knew I made the right decision for me and my family.  I have gotten so much support from my staff at school.  It made me remember and realize I have an amazing support system.

So, my bittersweet announcement is this:  I am taking a year to reflect, bring some clarity, and simplify my life.  Spend more time eating healthy and cooking meals. More time being a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. More time exercising and having quiet time.  But also more time to meet and be inspired by my amazing photography clients. I will only be taking a limited number of clients each week/month (and I am already booking into the fall!), so be on the lookout for more blogs, personal and about my amazing clients!

This is going to be a year to do more of this:

And MUCH more of this!

And making my clients laugh with my really bad jokes…

And hopefully seeing much, much more of my sweet niece Blair!

and get back to running…

and playing with my baby, Toby (who is in desperate need of a hair cut!)
and holding my husband’s hand…yeah, I want to do a lot more of that! (photo by the amazing Kamee June Photography)

Thank you so much for all the amazing support and encouragement I have gotten throughout the last two years.  I have an amazing support system, and I am realizing it more and more each day.  Excited to see what the next year brings.  Stay tuned… it is going to be a good one.
